Noise: unavoidable art form, sound can't be ignored.
Traditional art (film, paintings) you can easily choose to ignore or look away.
You can only look at a picture so long, view a film, but once it's over, it's over. You can listen to sound art all day and it affects you on a deeper level; more emotions drawn.

Our group went to Yorba Linda to interview with Christiaan Cruz, an artist we met at the sound walk. He allowed an interview at his house. Great shots were taken of his house. The interview was filmed in the room where he creates his "noise". there was good lighting and sound in that room. The inerview lasted about 40 minutes.

Our group met on campus for an interview with Chris Socates, University Art Museum Director for an interview at 1:30 pm. The fire drill delayed the interview. We filmed in the UAM reading room.

Our group went back to upper campus after the interview to film students wandering around the speakers and displays from Sound Oasis. we were also interested in filming student reactions to specific pieces of the event. Our group interviewed 4 students that were on site. The students had left by about 6:30 pm.

10/08/07

Our group attended and filmed the Sound Oasis panel discussion at the Daniel Recital Hall at 5:30 pm. The panel discussion featured Francisca Rivera-Lake, Sound Oasis creator; Carla Vera-Hernandez, event documenter; Leandro Villahas and Elizabeth Blaney from Ultra red, performers at Sound Oasis; Luz Maria Sanchez, performer at Sound Oasis. The discussion lasted about an hour an a half and we were able to interview Luz Maria Sanchez and Ultra Red to find out more about their performances at Sound Oasis.
